Kate DeMoss holds the following ranks:
- Shodan (1st Level Black Belt) in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu awarded in 2009
- Kumu (Teacher) in Hawaiian Lua awarded in 2009
She was awarded the Kufferath Award in recognition of commitment to the study and application of the martial way by the Kilohana Martial Arts Assocation in 2008.
She is currently
- Assistant Instructor, Shinbukan Dojo, Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Judo and Hawaiian Lua, adult and children’s classes
- Director of the California Mega Program, Enabling Safety, Self Defense for the Visually Impaired
- Board Member and Instructor for the Kilohana School of Massage and Healing Arts
Kate also has been doing massage/bodywork since 1985 and has a successful practice in which she utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach focused on deep tissue and sports massage incorporating hot stone therapy and kinesio taping.
She has the following massage certifications and training
- Over 500 hours massage training
- 20,000 hours work experience in both private practice and chiropractic offices
- California Certification
- Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
- ABMP Certified Massage Therapist, Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals

She is formally educated and has a Ph.D. in Analytical and Nuclear Chemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from which she also did her Masters in Chemistry. She holds a Bacherlor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. |
